How to read the precipitation radar
The radar shows where precipitation has already formed and how it is moving. Three things are worth watching.
Watch the intensity
Lighter shades mean weaker precipitation; darker blue and purple areas mean heavier rainfall.
Compare with the forecast
The radar shows the present situation. For planning the hours ahead, check the hourly forecast as well.

Does the radar show exactly when the rain will arrive?
The direction of movement can be estimated, but precipitation may strengthen, weaken or change course along the way, so an exact arrival time cannot be guaranteed.
Why is no precipitation visible on the map?
